tiny miracles
it only takes a moment for the miracle to come. in a split second, a smile happens, small fingers wrap themselves in yours, and trust, the most precious, fleeting whisper, is given. no child is mine, and yet i could not love them more if they were. delicate arms fold around my neck, sticky lips kiss my cheek, they gather round and tell me about their most important facts ~ I started baseball today and got my own socks that go to my knee~this girl in my class got a bloody nose cause she was picking it~look at my owie, the hamster bit me~kylie ate all the candy and didn't share~These are the tiny miracles, they are growing every day like dreams...folding out beneath our hands and love. they look to us like trampolines, things to push off of, giving them the power to go as high as they want and catching them gently when they come back down.
